Background

WILLOW is an Australian fashion label launched to critical acclaim in 2003. The label immediately became some of the most sought after designs on the International scene. WILLOW is now available in selected boutiques and department stores though out Australia, Europe, the United States, and the Middle East.

Client Brief

Several key issues were paramount to WILLOW and it was designIT resolving those issues that made the project such a success.

The website is to be used as a major communication tool between WILLOW and the world. Due to the size of the company, an international marketing team simply is not feasible.

  • A minimal contemporary design – allowing primary focus to the WILLOW clothing collections.

  • Emphasis on the sophistication of the young company.

  • Directly engage with potential customers

  • WILLOW is a fast growing company and therefore, the website needed to be able to grow and change seamlessly with the company.

  • Allow internal staff to manage the site's content in a quick and easy manner.

The Solution

  • The WILLOW website was developed using the eZ publish CMS making site updates & maintenance easy for in house WILLOW staff.

  • designIT worked closely with WILLOW to create a website design that was visually minimal and clean yet still engaging.

  • With the client heavily involved we produced an innovative site that not only met, but exceeded WILLOW ‘s requirements from a technical, functional, and aesthetic standpoint.

  • designIT implemented a subscription list so that WILLOW can keep in regular contact with potential customers via email newsletters. In fact, the bi-annual WILLOW sale is only advertised to members on this list.

The Future

With massive media coverage, WILLOW are constantly receiving International Media requests. designIT implemented a media area on the existing WILLOW website that allows access to any publicity or collection images – thus saving WILLOW staff valuable time making images available around the clock especially given world time zones differences which are no longer an issue.
