The Gradlink website was first re-designed by the designIT team in 1999 to coincide with a national marketing campaign to increase student registrations.  The key objective was to produce a new design and navigation system that would make the site easier to use. Early reports showed daily registrations doubled.

It then wasn’t until 2oo2 that a re-design was required.   After implementing user surveys and undergoing months of analysis, designIT and GCCA defined the business requirements. 

designIT configured the Content Management System and successfully created a new visual interface to suit the new functionality requirements.

Not long after first re-designing the Gradlink website for the GCCA in 1999, we were asked to redesign the GCCA homepage in line with their existing print designs and the Gradlink look and feel.

Graduate Careers Australia Launches Graduate Opportunities 2007 Feb

Brief

The newly launched Graduate Opportunities website is a powerful online resource being Australasia's Official Graduate Jobs Directory. It has been built using a customized eZ publish Enterprise Level Content Management System and integrated into a custom employer online database application. The website provides university students throughout Australia and New Zealand.

Challenges

There were two major challenges involved in the delivery of this project. The website had to integrate into an existing online application (employer database) so that it did not have to be rebuilt. Also, the initial visual concept designs that were supplied needed to be adjusted to fit the content and data particulars to the web site.

Wrap Up

eZ Publish is an enterprise level open source content management system (CMS). It is a great product that designIT can easily extend to accommodate the custom functionality outside the standard CMS functions. This enables designIT to put focus on the specific integration and design issues with this project rather than being distracted by the process of building an entire bespoke CMS from ground up. Combined with the fact that designIT are experts in use of HTML, CSS, and agile project management methodologies we were able to deliver for Graduate Careers Australia a quality result within the required time line.
