Australian publisher, Hardie Grant Egmont, has launched a new book in direct response to the reluctant reader phenomenon. Designed
specifically for boys aged seven to nine, The Zac Power series is the brain child of Hardie Grant Egmont’s Managing Director (and mother of two) Susannah McFarlane, who, frustrated with the lack of books available for her own reluctant young male reader, was motivated to create the Zac Power series - a series boys would find enjoyable reading outside of the school environment.
After conducting casual market research with school boys aged seven to nine, Zac Power was born. Hardie Grant Egmont’s research found that boys are very plot driven and interested in detail and gadgets, compared to girls who are more character driven.
The Zac Power web site is a companion to the book series.
